Diffusion and thermalization in a boundary-driven dephasing model

چکیده

We study a model of non-interacting spinless fermions coupled to local dephasing and boundary drive described within Lindblad master equation. The features an interplay between infinite temperature thermalization due bulk non-equilibrium stationary state the dissipation. revisit linear non-linear transport properties model, featuring crossover from ballistic diffusive scaling, compute spectral occupation encoded in single particle Green's functions, that we exactly using equations motion spite \emph{interacting} nature term. show distribution function system becomes frequency independent flat, consistent with thermalization, while near boundaries it retains strong reflect continuous injection depletion particles driving

A Numerical Model of Stress Driven Grain Boundary Diffusion

The stress driven grain boundary diffusion problem is a continuum model of mass transport phenomena in microelectronic circuits due to high current densities (electromigration) and gradients in normal stress along grain boundaries. The model involves coupling many different equations and phenomena, and difficulties such as non-locality, stiffness, complex geometry, and singularities in the stre...

A diffusion boundary layer model of microsegregation

A microsegregation model, based on a boundary layer concept, is proposed for solidification of alloys. The model is derived by considering finite-rate solute diffusion both in the liquid and in the solid. A solutal Fourier number is used to characterize the extent of finite-rate solute diffusion in the liquid phase ahead of the moving solid/liquid interface. This new parameter is the liquid cou...

Diffusion-induced dephasing in nanomechanical resonators

We study resonant response of an underdamped nanomechanical resonator with fluctuating frequency. The fluctuations are due to diffusion of molecules or microparticles along the resonator. They lead to broadening and change of shape of the oscillator spectrum. The spectrum is found for the diffusion confined to a small part of the resonator and where it occurs along the whole nanobeam. The analy...

Thermalization in a model of neutron star

We consider a simple model used by Lattimer et al. to describe the evolution of temperature [7] in neutron stars. It supposes a linear dependence of the specific heat as a function of temperature and assumes that a mechanical equilibrium is reached, so the problem reduces to the study of large time asymptotic for a Fast Diffusion Equation satisfied by the temperature. In fact this model suppose...

Diffusion of Model-Driven Architecture in Academia

Model-driven architecture (MDA) is a relatively new software development paradigm that advocates the use of modeling throughout the software development lifecycle. This paradigm appears to be gaining validity in the industry as several large companies are investing resources to develop tools that support MDA. However, little is known about the diffusion of MDA in an academic setting. A survey o...
